Responsibilities:
- Issue Technical Specification and manage piping related packages
- Translate project requirements, classification society requirement, relevant industrial standard and other statutory body's requirement into Technical Specifications for piping related materials, equipment and services to be procured and ensure all procurement arrangement & transactions comply with project's commercial, legal and contractual obligation
- Engage in technical discussions to achieve comparable levels of compliancy for competing suppliers of the same product/system; (providing a good starting point for the commercial negotiation)
- Prepare technical bid evaluations to qualify suitable vendors in terms of quality, track record, cost, delivery, responsiveness to meet project's schedule and compliance to all applicable requirements imposed by project owners & statutory bodies. "Manage and evaluate technical deviation in vendors' proposals.
- Contribute to the engineering process by developing the required deliverables, such as specification documents, reviewed supplier's documentation, functional descriptions, schematic drawings and test and validation plans.
- Work with other engineers from same & different department to implements technical and practical knowledge & deviation into the design and takes care all relevant data is stored accurately in the EMS system
- Manage project owners' requirements, variation orders, comments on engineering documents, construction site issues and etc.
- Prepare and manage piping material take off and requisition order according to project progress/ status
- Verify technical performance of products and systems; (i.e. inspection of equipment at supplier premises, factory acceptance test and etc.)
- Engage with project stakeholders to periodically review procurement methodologies, devising improvement strategies to minimize variability in the supply chain
- Assist in material / cost estimation and contract specs. review prior to signing the contract with project owner
- Provide technical support for piping related construction / testing/ commissioning issues
