Monitors and reports on technical accounting issues and developments, including researching and reviewing the impact of new accounting guidance
Prepares technical accounting memos and related materials to support the company's reporting position
Ensures compliance with the applicable financial reporting standards
Participates in the review, analysis, and documentation of complex transactions. Assists in determining and documenting the Company’s accounting policies and position on relevant transactions
Assists with the implementation of new accounting standards and the development of new accounting processes
Develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance with applicable accounting standards
Develops and maintains effective relationships with external auditors
Prepares technical accounting training materials and conducts technical accounting training for staff
Requirements:
Minimum Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or equivalent
Minimum 7 years of working experience in related field, preferably with at least 3 years in technical accounting
High proficiency in IFRS is essential
Prior working experience in Big 4 CPA firm or construction company preferred
Detail-oriented, self-directed and able to effectively complete tasks with minimal supervision
Able to read and understand complex and/or unusual transactions/contracts and identify issues, conduct research and draft technical memos
